As comfortable in a studio as hanging from a rope a few thousand feet up, I am driven to capture what Jay Maisel aptly termed the confluence of light and gesture. People are a prominent part of my images - I tend to shoot close but wide and atmosphere and emotion are more important than a sharp shot. I shoot digital, the best Nikon has, although I love manual focus tilt/shift and an old medium format 6x6. I've licensed images commercially for over fifteen years. Clients include BBC, Black Diamond, BlueEdge, Bosch, Brooks Institute, CMC, DesignWorld, Montrail, Patagonia, Random House, the University of California and the US Government as well as editorial magazines and stock clients. Creative while professional, at the end of the day I deliver more than my clients expect. I'm a member of ASMP, EP and a strong advocate of teaching good business practices and creative techniques to emerging photographers. Since 2005 I've been working with a great team at Aurora Photos. My images are distributed by Aurora, Getty Images and Corbis. |
